Nicholas McCarthy | one-handed pianist

This week Lloyd talks to Nicholas McCarthy, the one handed pianist who, at the age of 24, has already received considerable attention and praise for his remarkable talent. In 2012, Nicholas became the first left-handed pianist to graduate from the Royal College of Music in its long history. Since then, he has performed in many prestigious venues in the UK and abroad - not only as a soloist, but also as a member of Charles Hazlewood's British Paraorchestra where he met Lloyd.

Chloé Vansoeterstède | conductor

My guest this week is Chloé Vansoeterstède, an exceptional violist from the Royal Academy of Music and conductor of the Arch Sinfoina.

The interview covers her developing career as a conductor, including her aspirations for the Arch Sinfonia, a new orchestra made up of the finest students frozm three of London's music colleges: the Royal Academy, Royal College and Guildhall School. We also explore Chloé's performing career on the viola - she frequently performs under the baton of the world's leading conductors as a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra.
