This week Lloyd talks to Nicholas McCarthy, the one handed pianist who, at the age of 24, has already received considerable attention and praise for his remarkable talent. In 2012, Nicholas became the first left-handed pianist to graduate from the Royal College of Music in its long history. Since then, he has performed in many prestigious venues in the UK and abroad - not only as a soloist, but also as a member of Charles Hazlewood's British Paraorchestra where he met Lloyd.
As usual, we end the show with the top five music-related stories from the past few weeks.
02.05 Nicholas' introduction to music - earlier years leading up to his studies at the RCM
11.40 Blumenfeld Etude in A-flat major, op.38
17.24 The left-hand repertoire - why it exists and which composers write most effectively
27.22 Scriabin Nocturne in D-flat major, op.9
33.23 British Paraorchestra and future projects
